Chateau de Montgoger can be reached most easily by car, but is also accessible by bus, train, and plane.

By car:

We are located 2 kilometers east of the Saint-Epain town centre, just off of route D21. The nearest autoroute is A10 and the exit is number 25 for Sainte-Maure de Touraine.

If you are attending one of our retreats, driving, and are willing to carpool, please let us know so that we may propose this option to the other retreat attendees!

By bus:

The closest major city to Montgoger is Tours, at 45 kilometers distance. A bus line makes regular trips from the Tours train station to Sainte-Maure de Touraine (about 10 kilometers from Montgoger) Monday through Saturday. The cost is 2 euro and hours schedule can be located here. If you contact us beforehand, we will arrange a time to pick you up from the last stop of this bus line, “Carrefour des 4 Routes.”

By train:

The Tours train station is the largest station closest to us, with arrivals throughout the day from many different French cities, including an almost hourly train from Paris. Chateau de Montgoger can then be reached through the bus line listed above, or you can arrange a taxi with a local service (find the link here).

There is also a smaller train station located about 10 kilometers from Montgoger, called Villeperdue. Though it has less frequent arrivals, it does minimize travel time to the chateau. There are generally two trains from Tours to Villeperdue each day, as well as trains arriving from Poitiers and Orléans. To find hours and pricing for the Villeperdue or Tours train station, simply use the SNCF site, found here. If you are arriving at Villeperdue, contact us beforehand and we will arrange a time to come pick you up.

By airplane:

The airports closest to Montgoger are Tours, Paris (Charles de Gaulle or Orly) and La Rochelle. Trains may be taken to Tours or Villeperdue from these airports using the SNCF link given above.
